Love vs Controversy, a match made in hell?
Normally I wouldn't post about pop culture as I don't really care for it at all but I read something on facebook from a friend of a friend who is basically my friend (at least on facebook that's the case with Shahlaa Tahira) but I digress. The reason for this blog entry is because it was brought to my attention that the ever arrogant & ever controversial rapper Kanye West got married to a lady by the name of Kim Kara, Karadishi-something or other, but for me that's the irrelevant part. Congrats to him getting married but from his public persona he's probably better off getting married to himself, or at least his blimp-like ego, but I digress again. My question is, can those who are controversial stay happily married. I know Kanye has courted controversy before with his 'George Bush does not like Black people' line, stealing a trophy from some young girl etc, and i've heard that the new 'Miss West' (which sounds like some inner city beauty paegent winner to me) has been embroiled in controversy herself before so i'm thinking to myself, 'this can't possibly last'. I've recently seen blogs by another Facebook friend of mine (Umbreen Ali that's a shout out for ya) about celebrity culture and that kind of thing which is much more her realm than mine but I think to myself, 2 people who court controversy will only court more controversy which will not only speed up, but could guarantee a break down of any relationship, much less one that will constantly be in the public eye and to my knowledge most 'celebrity' relationships don't last anyway. For me it's doomed to fail, but I wish anyone who gets married happiness, as I'd love to find it myself (ladies form an orderly queue, single file please) and for the apparent $20m they spent on the wedding, hopefully it doesn't end up like Britney Spears' Vegas vacation.
It's short, it's sharp & slightly kneejerk, but I'm Straight Shootin' LJA and that's my opinion

Life, Love & Other Stuff – A Straight Shootin’ Summary
All 3 of these things not only interest me but they can at times confuse me, reason being is that all 3 can come and go in the blink of an eye. Life is not a box of chocolates, to me Life is a road that weaves and winds and has many twists and turns, and many lessons that must be learned and experience is how life's lessons are best learned.
In terms of love, there are some in life who look for love but are unable to find it, those who look for love in the wrong places, and those who love to love but give their love to the wrong sort of people. To me, the only love that’s guaranteed is the love you have for yourself, and I don't mean the 'five knuckle shuffle' or the 'self high-five' style love for yourself, I mean appreciating, respecting & trusting yourself.
Life, throws up many questions, such as, why are morons seemingly outnumbering normal people? Why do comedians get lambasted when they do comedy that's a bit too 'near the knuckle', because some can't take the truth? Why is the Kony 2012 gimmick (which has a somewhat noble foundation) nothing but American propaganda bullshit with emotional blackmail and a damn 10-minute intro to a half hour film? Why do people watch the crap factor, or X-factor as people know it better as? For the record I do like to say ‘never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups’, and in recent months I’ve had to say that statement with a lot more frequency.
As for the other stuff, foot rot, bum rot & gangrene, only joking, in terms of other stuff, there is so much for me that I can put in this bracket. The things that make life worth living like my friends, my family, my work and especially football, whether it be talking about it on the Pitch Talk show I'm proud to co-host, to watching my beloved Liverpool FC playing to playing for the Mighty IBIS 4's in the Southern Amateur league. Speaking personally a feel I've had a good life that will be come great, I've got almost all the love I could ever want from my friends & family & a healthy love of myself. Life is more than worth living at present for me, some things are still yet to fall into place but with the banter I have with friends, coupled with the things I enjoy, to crowbar in an obligatory wrestling reference & to quote former WWE/WWF & WCW Heavyweight Champion Kevin Nash, life is just too sweeeeet!!!
